My Father-My Hero

14th May- it's my dear father's birthday!

My father, Buruhanudeen, is an aeronautical engineer by qualification (now, you know where Syabil got his passion for aeroplanes from?), and an educator by profession. He has been teaching for 32 years now, and he's still very passionate about what he does and thinks very highly about his busy schedule. In a nutshell, I can proudly say- he is indeed jack of all trades and master of most! :) He's the greatest father I could ever wish for. I hardly remember him raising fingers on me or my sister when we were growing up (that's mom, not dad) LOL He fulfills every wants and needs of us always- his children are his priority. He gave us good education. One thing about my father is that, he never gave in when it comes to education, instead, without fail, he would guide and coach us till we succeed. Thanks to him, I am what I am now, and thanks to him, my sister got her PhD too. It was his burning effort that encourages us both to struggle and make him proud of us.

My father used to be very active in sports too when he was in school. Well, I wonder where that genes of him gone, since both me and my sister were never active in sports at all. LOL Despite his 'not-great' childhood, he managed to wake up and stand ALL BY HIMSELF and be proud of what he has achieved.

Now that he has 2 grandchildren, he has been pampering them with everything he has. I can imagine him doing the same thing to me and my sister when we were small kids too. Syabil is definitely his tokwan's (grandfather's) pet, and even Daryn will get over excited whenever she sees her tokwan around. Sometimes, I get angry at my father for pampering them too much. LOL That's how he is. He loves children. I guess, the fatherly instinct in him is so strong, which is why my husband is very comfortable and could joke around with my father more than he could with his own!!!!!!

Sometimes, I cannot accept the fact that I am getting older by the years and so are my parents. Today, 14th May 2008 is my father's 59th birthday.
Happy Birthday dear father and we all love you very dearly.....

Miss me Not!

Tomorrow morning, me and my family are flying to Bandung, Indonesia again- this time round, hubby is joining us too. He's in fact very eager after all the things we got him the last time. :) We are leaving on the morning flight on Tuesday (we have to leave home by 6:30am), and coming back on Friday evening. I believe there will be internet connection in the hotel we have booked for, so, I might be updating my blog from there too (if I have the time and energy) LOL...till then...miss me not!!! :)

Daryn's domain

Daryn has started talking now...in a language of her own...in her very own domain...and no one else could understand her....

Did you get what she's trying to say? LOL

And now, this is how busy she was at the mall! I gave up!

Another Day Has Gone...

It's mother's day today! I woke up in the morning, and my mom has finished cooking a few dishes of the family's favourites! How wonderful is that? :) Well, I thought twice about putting up the pics, since a few of my friends are always saying I am luring them with food and making them drool- hahahaha drool then!!!! LOL (oppsss I did it again!)

Later after lunch, we went out to Queensbay (yes- again!). This time round, I particularly wanted to get some books and also another pair of shoes for my little princess. Oh my God! It is unbelievable to manage Daryn now. Just a month back, she was all quiet, now she's so active and I get really tired running after her. In the book store, she was so busy running here and there, picking up books, putting them on different shelves, flipping pages, throwing down books which are nicely arranged in a stack, touching this and that and walking about holding big books!!! Her daddy was the one looking after her- I gave up!

Bought Syabil a magnetic book on 'Thomas and his Friends' also a giant chart, which consists of 6 wall charts for children; which I thought was pretty good. He is now into Mathematics. His aunty is teaching him basic addition, and he seems to follow the 'lessons' very well. He knows the basic addition up to the total of 10 now. He is very eager to learn too, he would go up to his aunt and say, "I want to learn Mathematics" and yes- he pronounced Ma-the-ma-tics correctly too!!!! :)

Later, hubby gave us all 'ice cream' treat at Swensens. As always, my mom, Syabil and me had the sticky chewy chocolate. Daryn loves her ice cream too.

I can't control myself but to laugh everytime I see this pic. I don't know why, but Syabil loves to roll his eyes like that whenever pictures of him are taken. It's really funny. He looks so angry, but very adorable too!!! Look for the little small smudgy mouth of Daryn! LOL and see how big her eyes pop while enjoying her chocolate ice cream!

After the ice cream, Daryn was even more active. She refused to be carried, she was walking and enjoying her squeaks! She even managed to make friends with another little girl.

Syabil was very protective over his sister. Whenever a stranger approaches Daryn, he would go and carry her (err rather choke her) back to me or his daddy! LOL

On the way home, both of my apples were very tired. Daryn fell asleep right after a few minutes. I am sure she must be very tired from all the walking.

Tomorrow we will be resting all day, Tuesday, we will be flying to Bandung (again!).

Happy Mother's Day

11th May- It's Mother's Day. It's a special day to celebrate the love, sacrifice and courage of a mother. Somehow, I do believe in the fact that, you will never know the sacrifice of a mother until you are one. I am honoured and blessed to have a wonderful mother, who is always supporting me and who is so loving to the grandchildren too. My mother thought me how to be a mother to my children, and I hope I will be a great mother to my 2 apples of the eyes. Happy Mother's Day dear mom.

I'd like to wish all my mummy friends Happy Mother's Day. This goes to Natrah, Petula, Syari, Riani, Tammy, Aunty J (wife to Uncle J) :), Maya, Tina, Jean, Shinky and Trinity. Enjoy your day today and we are all great moms, don't we? :)
